About this Training

The CDRT Training is a 7-day initiative offered both online and in person, aimed to improve the disaster preparedness skills of Red Cross staff and volunteers. Participants will learn important knowledge and practical skills to help their Red Cross branches respond more efficiently and effectively during emergencies.

The training will also emphasize teamwork, helping participants work well together during a disaster. Additionally, it will teach basic skills that can be shared with communities to use in emergencies, especially when help from responder agencies is delayed.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of this training, staff and volunteers will:

  1. Have increased their awareness and understanding of important disaster risk reduction terms and concepts.

  2. Be better prepared to coordinate with their branches to help communities protect themselves against the negative impacts of disasters.

  3. Be able to provide community volunteers with the skills needed to work as a team to support response agencies before, during and after an emergency.
